Animal feed

Coming soon: Urfôr høns

Natural feed for chickens

Urfôr høns is a locally produced, healthy and sustainable feed for poultry.

If chickens could choose themselves

Insects have been a natural part of the poultry diet for millions of years. Scratching soil to look for insects is the most natural behaviour chickens engage in.

Therefore, it makes sense to supplement standard feed with whole insects, both for their nutritional benefits and to stimulate natural behaviour in chickens.

Feed for salmon

Mealworms and other insects have been tested as feed for salmonoids in a number of research projects, and are a reliable, Norwegian-produced source of protein and micro-nutrients that have positive effects on fish growth and health.

Invertapro is developing new methods for insect rearing and processing through the project 'Insects as a new and sustainable feed raw material in fish feed'. We are collaborating with Skretting, Aker Biomarine, Tine and Norinsect.

Feed for poultry

Insects naturally form a central part of the diet for poultry and is considered a protein source of high quality. Mealworms are a sustainable, Norwegian-produced alternative to imported proteins.

Research suggests that insects can improve the gut-health of chickens, and several research projects are underway to find the best way to include insects in poultry feed.
